About the Organization
Action for Autism (AFA) is a not-for-profit that has pioneered the autism movement in South Asia. AFA’s mission is to facilitate the empowerment of persons with autism and their families; and to act as a catalyst for change that enables persons with autism to live as fully participating members of the community. AFA’s work is based on the premise that autism is a different and valid way of being often difficult and challenging, but nonetheless, as valid as the non-autistic. AFA serves as a pioneer for innovation in autism education, research, and training while strengthening autism advocacy worldwide. Established in 1991, AFA’s services are designed as models for replication, thereby reaching out to far larger numbers than would otherwise be possible. Over the 30 years of our existence, AFA has impacted policy, initiated early identification, catalyzed educational inclusion, promoted the demystification of professional knowledge, and facilitated parents to become change makers.
Educational Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy of minimum four and half years duration from a recognized University or Institute.
Experience: 1-3 years
Desired Qualities:
- Passionate about working with individuals with Autism
- Possess good communication skills with fluency in English and Hindi
- Able to work independently in a low resourced hands-on environment
- Have good people skills and team handling ability
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluating the abilities of individuals with autism and formulating their occupational profile
- Developing and implementing intervention plans based on individual's needs and evaluate the results
- Working alongside special educators and other team members for overall progress and wellbeing of individuals with autism.
- Working towards periodic review, quality assurance and upgradation of existing sensory and occupational intervention programs
Location: Jasola Vihar, Delhi and Gurgaon
Work days:
For Jasola Vihar, Delhi: Monday - Friday
For Gurgaon: 2-3 times per week
