Job Description for Audiologist

1. General Information

• Location: South Delhi
• Type of Employment: Contractual for a period of 1year, renewable basis project requirements
• No. of Position: 01
• Reporting to: Project Manager

2. Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer audiometric and speech/language tests to evaluate the extent of impairment in patients.
• Interpret diagnostic data to identify and develop treatment plans for patient hearing problems.
• Counsel patients and their families to adopt lip reading and sign language to effective communication.
• Maintain up-to-date record of patient information, treatment plan, and progress.
• Track patient recovery process to determine the need for change in treatment.
• Conduct auditory evaluations by measuring noise levels to determine hearing suitability.
• Collaborate with physicians, ENT specialists, speech/language therapists, and paediatricians to rehabilitate patients adjusting to hearing implants.
• Conduct hearing protection and hearing loss screening program.
• Plan and organize rehabilitation programs to help patients adjust accordingly to the use of hearing aids.
• Maintain accurate inventory and determine the need for stock replacement.

3. Other Indicative Requirements

Educational Qualifications         

• Graduate in relevant subject from a recognized university

OR

• Master’s degree in relevant subject

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)      

• 5 years of relevant work experience in the development sector
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to relate and interact with multicultural teams
• Giving close attention to details and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.
• Ability to lead and drive the project with a vision to achieve transformational change.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Have an empathetic & compassionate attitude. Sensitive towards the needs of children
• Ability to analyse complex problems, craft possible solutions and recommendations

Working days and Timings: Twice in a week (9am to 5pm)

Salary: INR 20,000 per month. (Inclusive of all taxes)
