Action For Autism (AFA) is a not-for-profit that has pioneered the autism movement in South Asia. AFA’s mission is to facilitate the empowerment of persons with autism and their families; and to act as a catalyst for change that enables persons with autism to live as fully participating members of the community. AFA serves as a pioneer for innovation in autism education, research, and training while strengthening autism advocacy worldwide. Over the 30 years of our existence, AFA has impacted policy, initiated early identification, catalyzed educational inclusion, promoted the demystification of professional knowledge, and facilitated parents to become change makers.
About the Position
The person will be responsible for managing day to day administration and financial matters and providing programmatic support to Program leaders. S/He will report to the Founder Directors of AFA and will work with the Program leaders to achieve objectives of AFA.
AFA has a collegial and consultative environment, while individuals have responsibility for driving specific areas of work, they work in consultation with others in the team without compromising on effectiveness or timeliness in rendering services and results.
Responsibilities
Work alongside HR & Admin, Finance and Accounts, Fundraising and Marketing and ensure efficient execution and teamwork.
Work alongside administration and operations of the two facilities- Jasola and Ananda
Manage the administration, front office and housekeeping staff
Ensure proper and effective maintenance of property and equipment incl IT infrastructure
Ensure all services run effectively
Work alongside Finance and Accounts department in day to day activities
Vet invoices and approve expenses
Ensure books of accounts are maintained in proper order
Contribute to the preparation and periodic budgetary reviews
Manage all HR processes for the organization – recruitment, induction, payroll, appraisal, reviews, exit etc
Manage public communications, website and social media presence
Competencies
Education and Experience
Graduation and above
At least four years of experience in a leadership role
A basic understanding of finances and organizational development
Knowledge
Understand the disability sector, its trends and challenges
Familiar with government policy and trends related to convergence with development issues/policies and schemes
Ability to understand the key challenges faced by the disability sector and to present solutions in line with rights-based approach to disability
Communication
Superior verbal & written communication skills in English and Hindi
Strong interpersonal and networking skills
Experience with digital marketing and social media
