Sangath (www.sangath.in) is one of India's leading mental health research non-profit organization. It was founded in 1996 with its headquarters in Goa; major hubs in Delhi and Bhopal, and project sites in many parts of the country. Sangath's mission and expertise lies in developing and evaluating mental health interventions to be delivered through existing public systems. Its major thematic areas are: Child development and disability; adolescent health; mental disorders; and ageing.
Sangath was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Foundation International Prize for Creative and Effective Institutions in 2008 and the WHO Public Health Champions Award for India in 2016. It has completed a number of randomized controlled trials for mental disorders in India, including the only two autism trials in the country.
Project: Communication-centred Parent-mediated treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder in South Asia (COMPASS) will be testing whether an intervention focusing on parent-child communication can help decrease symptoms of autism in children in the community. The intervention will be delivered by non-specialised government frontline workers – COMPASS counsellors, in homes of children with autism. A key strength of this intervention is that the counsellors will support the parent to work with their child to enable sustainable changes in the child’s environment.
Sangath is working with the University of Manchester (UoM), the Delhi State Health Mission, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College and associated with Ass. Lok Nayak Hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Harvard Medical School in this project.

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a candidate with an exposure to various assessment measures who would be willing to work for an exciting research program. We will expect the candidate to:
Have experience in mixed methods researcher (qualitative and quantitative).
Support the implementation of formative phase and definitive trial phase research activities.
Ensure the quality of all research activities including data collection and analysis at the research site (New Delhi).
Support the functioning of the research team at the research sites (New Delhi).
Support the Trial Coordinator, Research Coordinators and Principal Investigators (PI) in designing the data collection tools and Standard Operating Procedures including data processing.
Get trained in evaluation measures to be administered as part of the trial.
Support the translation and documentation of evaluation measures and any other research documents into “Hindi” (from English).
Participate in the Outcome evaluation training programs and achieve required competency.
Ensure day to day data entry of the collected data.
Follow and ensure confidentiality of data and ensure secure and timely data transfer to Data manager.
Draft scientific reports and other project activities reports as per the research protocol
Participate in joint project activities including project meetings, academic activities in coordination with the research team.
Report to Trial Coordinator and Research Coordinators and provide as well as receive regular feedback on all activities.
Have regular coordination and communication with Research Coordinators and the other team leads and all team members of the project.
Any other project related duties as assigned by your supervisor or PI.
Essential
Postgraduate degree in Psychology
Skills of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
Minimum experience of 2 years of working in a mental health research project
Fluency in English and Hindi with demonstrated experience of writing clinical materials in plain English
Good computing skills
Commitment of a minimum of two years
Desirable
Experience in mental health research, especially clinical trials
Knowledge of software (In-Vivo/SPSS/STATA) and training in research methods (at least 2 years)
At least 2 to 5 years’ experience in qualitative and/ or quantitative data collection
Previous experience of working with participant population (Autism Spectrum Disorders)
