About the Role | Sr. Project Manager
HKM Charitable Foundation is looking to recruit a dynamic professional to provide high-quality organizational and logistical support for its program activities and events.
Education and experience:
- Degree or certification in program development, monitoring, and evaluation
- 1-2 years’ experience working for an NGO or working as a program manager in the private sector
- Certification in or experience with grant writing welcomed but not essential
Skills and abilities:
- Must speak Marathi and be able to write fluent and graceful English
- Must be able to competently use email, MS office apps, Google apps, and mobile apps for collaboration.
Must believe in the organization's mission and be able to rally the team as well as the beneficiaries for the cause in face of challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project activities, attend stakeholder meetings, monitor and conduct evaluations
- Develop new projects with clearly defined goals, objectives that identify measurable results that will indicate goal achievement, and for which there is strong evidence (based on past evaluations and literature search) that the project will achieve the defined objectives and that meeting those objectives will demonstrate goal achievement
- Building and managing relationships with the multiple partners and co-partners/agencies working in the projects, and ensure they deliver together for the projects.
- Post reports and updates on all social media and crowdfunding platforms.
- Work with Grant Proposal team to lay out a budget and project details for funding
- Maintain beneficiary and donor databases
- Write detailed project closure reports that can be used for future funding opportunities.
- Coordinate with a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Travel to project sites around Mumbai as needed
- Coordinating and regularly interacting with sector players, local governments, and other institutions.

HKM Charitable Foundation
- Akshaya Chaitanya is a not-for-profit initiative of HKM charitable foundation to enable the underprivileged, admitted in public hospitals in Mumbai, to recoup from an illness in the family. These families rush to public hospitals for affordable treatment as >90% do not have any kind of medical insurance. To add to their woes, the bread-winner loses the livelihood being bed-ridden or taking care of the loved one. It started with feeding vulnerable family members of patients at Indo American Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad in Nov 2011 and requests from several government and trust run hospitals started pouring in to expand the program. We instituted and registered a trust, HKM Charitable foundation, in May 2013 to expand the program to serve 3500+ daily in 17 public hospitals. We expanded to reach to every underprivileged section in Hyderabad. And, it took us 8 years to reach a scale to feed 50K meals every day to realize our mission for Hyderabad in collaboration with several corporate partners and local municipal authorities. We have been in service for over 9 years and have served 130Mn+ meals across 200+ touch points supported by 4 hi-tech kitchens built and operational, so far.
