Organization’s invites applications for the position of Portfolio Manager, based in Bengaluru. The Portfolio Manager will play a central role in shaping and managing one or more grant portfolios at Organisation’s . The role involves end-to-end grant-making and management, delivering on the operational plans, ecosystem engagement, mentoring and relationship-building with partner organisations. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that the Trust’s resources are deployed thoughtfully, effectively, and with long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Management
Lead the end-to-end grant cycle, including sourcing, assessment, selection, and project design
Ensure proposed programmes are contextually grounded, financially viable, and capable of achieving scalable impact
Oversee grant processing, fund disbursement, and compliance requirements
Support and handhold new partners through the grant application and onboarding process
Monitor and review grant-level progress against agreed indicators on a regular basis
Manage renewals of partner agreements and address partner account-related matters in a timely manner.
2.External Engagement and Partnerships
Develop and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including civil society organisations, funders, and sector experts
Lead assessment and selection of strategic partnership opportunities
Represent Organisation’s at conferences, forums, and sector events to strengthen networks and generate potential collaborations
3.Portfolio Strategy and Planning
Deliver on portfolio-level strategies aligned with the Trust’s priorities
Identify and facilitate support of exceptional program delivery models that address system issues and allied vulnerabilities.
Prepare rolling and annual work plans for focus areas
Undertake budgeting and forecasting for grantee projects and related initiatives
Scan the broader ecosystem to identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities
Conceptualise new ideas and initiatives relevant to priority sectors
Contribute to organisational learning by building, structuring, and sharing knowledge internally
Actively support innovation and long-term growth of thematic priorities and the institution as a whole
Candidate Profile Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Management, or a related discipline (MSW/MBA or equivalent) from a recognised institution in India or abroad
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years of experience in grant making and management. Experience in the social sector is a must-have.
