Role and Responsibilities
Deliverables for Program Officer are as under:
Identification of children under exploitative situations and mapping of vulnerable children.
Rescue children in need of care and protection with the help of child protection rescue teams and other line departments, including ensuring necessary shelter and support.
Organize training and capacity building programs for child protection staff and other stakeholders like administrative officers of Labour Dept., members of Labour Dept. etc.
Provide legal aid and legal assistance to the child victims.
Repatriate children who are victims of child labour, bonded child labour and trafficking.
Assist children in availing economic rehabilitation i.e. compensation under various statutory laws, court judgements and government schemes and policies.
Develop a district wise consolidated data repository on child labour.
Act as a knowledge repository on child labour in the State.
Understand child labour trends in the state and take appropriate action on eliminating child labour.
Providing support to DNO, police to conduct rescue of child laborers or adolescent labourers.
Ensuring the proper admission of rehabilitated children are in the regular schools and Adolescents in the skill development courses up to obtaining the age of 18 years in order to prevent revictimisation of these children and Adolescents.
Interstate coordination for rehabilitation of repatriated children rescued from other states.
Strengthen the all systems in the State for reporting of child labour.
Build capacity of stakeholders like labour inspectors, District Nodal Officers and members of District Task Force for smooth implementation of Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 and the rules made under the Act.
Strengthen coordination and convergence between various departments at the District and State level.
Providing support to District Nodal Officers timely disbursement of rehabilitation funds for rescued children.
Identifying policy gaps on child labour if any by suggesting changes to the State and Central Government in the existing law and policies on child labour.
To provide information on evidence based suggestions derived from the analysis of the data collected at the State level for strengthening the plan of action towards elimination of child labour in the State.
